LETTERS FROM OUR PUPPY FAMILIES
I want to thank you once again for providing me
with the best dog in the world!! He has such a
wonderful disposition and is so loving. My
daughter adores him and the two are constant
companions whenshe comes up to visit me.
Many thanks for Buzz, he is such a joy!!  He's more
than a dog!!!!!
Best regards,
Jim Hankard

Poor Meadows Dachshunds is the absolute best.  The dogs are all
just darlings and well taken care of.  They are all loved so much.
Heidi and Dana dote over the puppies constantly so they know that
they are loved.  They are always under the watchful eye of Mama
Heidi! On their last night with Heidi, they are given even more
special care, love and attention before they go off to their forever
homes.  I have had my fur baby, Cody, for 2 years now and I just
love him so much, he is a good, sweet, loving dog, not a mean bone
in his body.  Everybody should adopt from Heidi.  Not only did I
find a friend in my dog, but also I found a good friend in Heidi.
We keep in touch and if there are any questions, dog related or not,
she is always there to help.

I chose Kenzie.  She is a red brindle female and she is perfect.  We live in Boston and Heidi
refers to Kenzie as the “bling, bling girl.”  I first visited Kenzie in Bridgton, Maine when she
was only 4 weeks young.  I fell in love immediately.  At that time, Kenzie fit in the palms of
my hands.  I can remember walking into Heidi and Dana’s home and feeling so much joy.
Dachshunds everywhere…it was amazing.
Once I had met Kenzie, I instantly became a nervous “mom.”  I continuously e-mailed and
called Heidi with all of my questions and worries.  Sometimes, she would chuckle at my
nervousness.  Kenzie turned 8 months on July 11 and weighs 13 pounds.  She has such a playful
and loving personality and brings so much happiness to my life and my home.  And, everyone
in the neighborhood just adores her.
Heidi and I still keep in touch…months later.  I continue to e-mail her with my concerns and
send her countless photos of Kenzie - Kenzie’s 1st Christmas, Kenzie’s 1st swim, etc.
I wish everyone the experience that I have had over the past 8 months.  Thank you, Heidi and
Dana.

Hello,
Just a little note from Freckles, We're so happy for Marlie
and her new puppies! I love my new home and I'm being
a very good girl for mommy and Daddy I only cry when
I have to go out to go potty. The night time is getting
better I only have to go once. My parents family also
love me and gave me lots of hugs and kisses. My
mommies daycare kids love me so much she does'nt have
to do much to keep them busy between activities. I love
when daddy comes home from work I get to play catch
with my toys and have more hugs. Mommy is so proud
of me I go out the door with her and go up two steps to
the side yard to do potty all by myself.  I do a good job
on my food, I'm getting big and strong you know. And
my very best time of the day is when mommy and daddy
watch T.V. at night I get to sit with them on the couch or
in their laps!!!! So bye bye for now It's nap time for the
daycare kids and Mommy has to get busy on a few
things! P.S. from Mommy
Thank You for the best puppy I love her so much She
brings tears to my eyes when she loves me and daddy!
Freckles is such a joy to have in our family!

Love Freckles and Carol  &   Dennis is at work but wishes
the best with your new puppies. I hope people know how
lucky they are to get a puupy from you, your the best!!!!!
My experience with Poor Meadows Dachshunds was extremely
pleasant. When I moved to Eastport, I decided to get a little
companion so I wouldn't be so lonely. I found Poor Meadows
through breeders.net and when it came down to it, Heidi was very
responsive and helpful answering any questions that I had. "Tatum"
is absolutely an amazing friend, he is so sweet and is always by my
side. I am so happy to have gotten a Poor Meadows puppy, and I
would not hesitate to recommend Poor Meadows to everyone.

I am very happy that of all the websites I researched for finding the love
of my life - I came across Poor Meadows. It felt right from the moment
we corresponded for the first time. Heidi has such a happy, warm, pet
filled home. My daughters and I did not want to leave when we came to
visit Brutus! I did not anticipate the love I would have for this dog, Heidi
has been very helpful with all questions and nervous new mom inquiries.
Thank you for being the one to provide me with the pet I have
always wanted. Maybe someday, Brutus (Bear and Beans also) will need a
brother or sister! Thank you Heidi - your pup is very much loved!

Poormeadows Dachshunds provides wonderful, healthy puppies
raised with love. After years of research, I chose to purchase my
precious babies from Heidi Healey, a very kind and conscientious
breeder. She made the whole experience a joy. She let ask many
questions and meet the pups and their parents before they came home
with me.  She provided me with photos and details of the puppies
development from the day they were born. I won't
hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a happy, healthy
Dachshund.
Much Love,    Dianne, Roman and Lionel
Gracie Mae is truly a blessing!  She is the perfect addition to our family.  And
as one would guess….YES! She is very spoiled.  In fact, she is our “baby girl”.
Her disposition is perfect and is friendly towards everyone she meets.  And
everyone at the Bridgton Vets love her and they often tell me how lucky I am
to have her.

Heidi, you are truly an A+ breeder who loves and cares for her dachshunds.
Many thanks to you for giving us such a beautiful little girl and always know
that Gracie Mae will always be adored.  In fact, we may be needing a little
brother for her(hint, hint).

Lots of love to you and your dachshunds!

We took years to decide whether or not we were going
to add a second dachshund into our "family".  Once we
finally decided to take the plunge, the search began.
Finding a good breeder is a difficult job, and finding
a good breeder in New England seems to be an even more
difficult job.  After weeks of searching, we found
Poor Meadows through breeders.net.  Heidi sent an
intelligent, thorough response to our initial email
and we were psyched.  The open invitation to visit her
home and meet all the dogs (including new puppies)
sealed the deal.  When we got our first dachshund we
never really met his father and we were eager to meet
both parents of our next dog.  As soon as we arrived,
we were greeted by the Poor Meadows herd.  Six healthy
and vibrant dachshunds swarmed all over us.  We knew
we were in the right place.
I think we spent a little over an hour with Heidi that
day.  She answered all of our questions, and through
our time spent with her we could see how much she
loved her dogs.  We left a deposit on Maggie, the runt
of the litter, and went home to count the days until
she could come home with us.  Heidi sent emails and
photos regularly so we could track her growth.  Ten
weeks later, we brought our little girl home, and she
is a healthy, well adjusted dachshund.  We attribute a
lot of this to the love, care, attention, and
socialization that she received while she was at Poor
Meadows.
We recommend Poor Meadows without reservation.  Heidi
has been super responsive to all of our questions, and
we've even been back for a visit so she could see how
well Maggie is doing.  We joke about starting our own
"herd", and I know that if we do we will be getting
the next addition from Poor Meadows.

Our Max will be five in May. He has been
nothing but a blessing to our family and is
a happy, healthy, beautiful dachshund.
Poor Meadows Dachshunds/Heidi Reid
Healey is a superior breeder who loves and
nurtures her dogs and is dedicated to
breeding beautiful dachshunds. She is
always ready to answer any question you
have. We feel like a family with other Poor
Meadows Dachshund owners because we
all talk to each  other through the Yahoo
group, which is a lot of fun! We would
highly suggest anyone interested in the
breed look no further. Poor Meadows
Dachshunds is truly the best!

Heidi:
I would like to thank you for the love of my life-
Fergus! He is a wonderful puppy and I adore him.
Heidi-you were fabulous in keeping David's secret so
that Fergus could be a surprise Easter present for me! It
was so hard to wait the 8 weeks for him-but when I
held him for the first time-words cannot express my
joy! I must say, meeting you was wonderful and to be
able to thank you in person for all of the Fergus
pictures and videos while I waited was awesome.
Also, meeting all your dachshunds! WOW! What a
wonderful experience! It is so easy to see why Fergus
and all the puppies are so well socialized. Your house
is filled with love and the dachshunds are awesome! I
also had the pleasure of meeting Fergus' litter
mates-his sisters Violet and Heidi. The great thing is
that I see them growing along with Fergus since you
have the wonderful puppy family site. I have met
some wonderful people there and have made many
friends.
I would recommend you to anyone and count my
blessings that I found you.
Words cannot express the feelings I have for Fergus!
He is so cuddly and funny and stubborn and
daring...the list goes on and on! As you know I have
three other dachshunds-whom I love dearly, but I will
get all of my future dachshunds from you.
Thank you Heidi for your caring gentle way that helps
all the puppies have such wonderful temperaments.
All our love, David, Pam, Rufus, Dapple, Misty Rose,
and FERGUS!!!
Hi Mama Heidi-it's me Fergus!!
Mommy told me that I could write to you and tell you how
much I love you!
I still have the blanket and stuffie that you sent with me to my
new home.  I am very protective of them-at least that is what
mommy says.
I am very happy here, but remember how much you love me
and how much fun it was at your house!  The day that I met
my mommy-you let her hold a new born puppy!  She was so
excited!  The ride to Rhode Island was very long-but mommy
cuddled me the whole way!  She told daddy that she would not
put me down-hee hee!
I met my new brothers and sister and they were so good to
me!  I loved to cuddle with Misty Rose and we still love to
cuddle.
I just found out that I love SNOW!!  It is so much fun to run
and play in it!
Well, that is it for now Mama Heidi-I just wanted to say I love
you and thank you for taking such good care of me before I
went to my new home.
Love and kisses,
xoxoxo

Dear Heidi, Dana, and Poor Meadows Dachshunds,
This is not so much a letter of recommendation as it is a letter of love and
joy.  Thank you for giving me my little love, Heidi IV, and the joy of
knowing you.  As you know, over the years I've had three other Dachshunds
who came from breeders, but never a breeder like you.  When I first spoke
with you on the phone Heidi, I had a very good feeling.  You proved the
feeling true with the pictures, videos, and emails you sent while I was
waiting for my little red smoothie.  Even after having other Dachshunds,
you were and are always there for any questions or concerns such as:
"Ouch! Puppy teeth biting me."  I loved meeting you and getting to hold a
newborn too!  It is easy to see why your puppies are so lovable as you give
them lot's of love.  From the first week Heidi came home she has been going
to visit at a skilled nursing facility and the staff just take her out of
my arms to go visiting.  I'm lucky to get her back!!  One of the nurses has
even contacted Poor Meadows!!
I also enjoy belonging to the group of Poor Meadows Dachshunds' owners
where I can chat, give and get advice, and keep up on what Heidi's siblings
are doing/getting into.  Seeing all the Dachshunds' pictures (young and
old) is fun, and I feel as if I'm just chatting with a group of friends who
all feel as I do about Dachshunds.
Someday I'd like a sibling for Heidi and she/he will only be from Poor
Meadows.
Thank you so much.
Carol
P.S.  Hi Mama Heidi,
This is me, Heidi - am I named after you or the story?   I have good
memories of  Bridgton with you, and hmmm, I think a lot of other Dachshunds
too.  Now I am an "only" dog, but that's ok as I get ALL the attention and
love and toys I want.  I go on fun walks (I know how to heel too), and get
cuddle time when I am tired of playing.  You know what?  I still sleep on
my blanket and with my toy that you sent home with me.  I  destroy my other
toys (tee hee hee), but new ones just appear.  Thank you for choosing my
forever home as I am very happy and loved.

Hi, Heidi,
First of all, congratulations on the new litter!  They are adorable, and I
would give just about anything to have one of them!!
Amanda just sent me this picture of Willow and her cousin, Daisy.
Watching them play together is HYSTERICAL!!  They love each other totally!
I have been trying to find a moment to update you on Willow's progress,
and I had hoped to do so before you got busy with the new litter, but life has
been getting away with me a lot lately!  Anyway, I just want to say thank you,
thank you, thank you for what you do.  We have had a lot of dogs in our
lives, but never one to rival Willow.  She is the easiest puppy we have ever
had, and has the sweetest disposition I have ever seen.  She loves every
living thing, and every living thing loves her!  She goes to the chiropractor
with Nick and I every week, and the office staff INSISTS that she come in and
play with them while we are with the doctor.  Now she knows where she is
going and can't wait to get in the door.  She runs around like she owns the
place and delights everyone who comes through the door.  The staff is
trying to talk me into making Willow a therapy dog - she really does have just
the right personality for it.  When life calms down some, maybe I will
consider it.  She is still awfully young.  But  I cannot tell you how much joy
she brings to our lives.  We just love her so much.  I so would like to have
another, but for us, three dogs is really enough for now.  We are very busy
planning a wedding for one of our daughters, which is going to be here at
the house next summer.  And Amanda is expecting a baby in April, so we are
spending a lot of time with her helping her to get ready while her husband is
away attending the Police Academy.  So we are terribly busy, and the three
dogs go everywhere with us and have a blast playing with all their cousins.
Willow has us ALL laughing all the time and it is wonderful.  She is just the
best dog we have ever had.  Thank you so much for doing such an
incredible job.  You make so many people happy in such a special way.
Best of luck with your new babies, and with the upcoming litter.  Who
knows, maybe circumstances will change and we will be back for another!  I
certainly hope so.
     Thank you again.
